The collection “The Material of the Built” highlights the work of a series of Catalan architecture offices whose projects clearly demonstrate coherence between concept and materialization, and for which sustainability is a cornerstone.
ANNA & EUGENI BACH is the team formed by Anna Bach (Nummi-Pusula, Finland, 1973) and Eugeni Bach (Barcelona, 1974). With a broad vision of the field of architecture, their interests cover four main activities: professional practice, through both public and private projects carried out at Anna & Eugeni Bach / Bach arquitectes; teaching, as professors at ETSAB UPC, ETSALS URL, EINA UAB, and through lectures and workshops at various European universities; research, as doctoral candidates at the university and through projects and installations that explore spatial perception; and, finally, cultural activity, as directors of the XV Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, as well as curators of various exhibitions and lecture series.
Among their recognitions are the FAD Award and FAD Opinion Award for Ephemeral Interventions 2019, nomination for the Mies van der Rohe Awards 2015, the FAD International Award 2014, and the FAD Opinion Award 2008. They have been finalists on several occasions at the Spanish Biennial of Architecture and Urbanism, as well as at the Ibero-American Biennial, among others.
La colección “El material de lo construido” destaca el trabajo de una serie de oficinas de arquitectura catalanas en cuyas obras es palpable la coherencia entre concepto y materialización y para las que la sostenibilidad es piedra angular.
ANNA & EUGENI BACH es el equipo formado por Anna Bach (Nummi-Pusula, Finlandia, 1973) y Eugeni Bach (Barcelona, 1974). Con una visión amplia del campo que ofrece la arquitectura, sus intereses abarcan cuatro actividades principales: la profesional, a través de proyectos tanto públicos como privados realizados en el estudio Anna & Eugeni Bach / Bach arquitectes; la docencia, como profesores en ETSAB UPC, ETSALS URL, EINA UAB, y a través de conferencias y talleres en varias universidades europeas; la investigación, como doctorandos en la universidad y mediante proyectos e instalaciones que trabajan sobre la percepción del espacio; y, finalmente, la cultural, como directores de la XV Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo, así como comisarios de varias exposiciones y ciclos de conferencias.
Entre sus reconocimientos, destacan el Premio FAD y FAD de la Opinión en Intervenciones Efímeras 2019, la nominación a los Premios Mies van der Rohe 2015, el Premio FAD Internacional 2014 o Premio FAD de la Opinión 2008. Han sido finalistas en varias ocasiones en la Bienal Española de Arquitectura y Urbanismo así como en la Bienal Iberoamericana, entre otros.
