Workshop Taller Vertical / Urbanmaking, ESARQ UIC.
El Empatizador es el resultado de un taller de una semana de duración, con alumnos de todos los cursos, de primero a quinto, de la ESARQ UIC (para algunos alumnos, éste fue su primer contacto con los estudios de arquitectura). Nuestro enfoque, desde el punto de vista docente, radicaba en 3 puntos:
- Que los alumnos entendieran que la arquitectura es un bien social.
- Que entendieran que los materiales tienen distintas naturalezas y éstas piden trabajar de maneras distintas
- Que realizaran un proyecto con un presupuesto limitado y que pudiera ser construido por ellos mismos; que entendieran que los proyectos se construyen, y hay que hacerlos viables.
El resultado del taller, debía poder construirse rápidamente en la calle, en una plaza de aparcamiento donde permanecería durante la jornada del Parking Day Barcelona, y debía ser desmontable y trasladable de manera eficaz.
El resultado es un artefacto dirigido a hacer una sociedad mejor de una manera inmediata. Jugando con el sentido del humor, el Empatizador presenta tres espacios (el periscopio, la realidad virtual y la realidad invertida) que nos permiten observar la ciudad de tres maneras distintas.
Una vez entramos en estos tres espacios, el Empatizador nos permite entender que el mundo puede verse desde muchos puntos de vista, y que también existen distintas maneras de entender nuestra propia sociedad; nos convierte en personas más empáticas y comprensivas,… en definitiva, el Empatizador nos transforma en mejores personas!
THE EMPATHIZER
The Empatizer is the result of a one week workshop, with students from first to fifth year from ESARQ UIC (for some students, this was their first contact with the architecture studies). Our focus, from the educational point of view, laid in 3 points:
• To help students understand that architecture is a social good.
• To teach the students that different materials have different natures.
• To undertake a project with a limited budget and built it by themselves.
The outcome of the workshop had to be built easily on the street, in a parking lot during the Parking Day Barcelona, and it had to be effectively removed and transfered.
The result is a device aimed at making a better society in an immediate way. Playing with sense of humor, the Empatizer allows you to go into three spaces (the periscope, the virtual reality and the inverted reality) that allow us to see the city in three different ways.
Once we enter into these three areas, the Empatizerr allows us to understand that the world can be seen from many different points of view, and that there are different ways of understanding our own society; It turns us into a more empathetic and caring people … and therefore, the Empatizer transforms us into better people!
